Fitting Advice

Our innovative breast forms and fashionable bras are a pleasure to wear and help to give you back your self esteem and confidence as you regain a sense of normality.

Before being fitted, you need to allow time for the healing process and for any swelling to reduce. This will take approximately six to eight weeks from time of the surgery.

What to Expect when Being Fitted

Having a qualified fitter for your bras and prosthesis is the first step; someone who will treat you with sensitivity and allow the time to show and explain all of your choices. There are many options and the perfect product to suit your individual needs.

A qualified mastectomy fitter from Mobile Prosthetic Services will know which breast forms are better suited for your body shape and surgery type.

You would need to allow at least one hour for the fitting. Ensuring you get the right breast form for your circumstances, you will also need to have a bra correctly fitted to your body shape.

We have a wide range of attractive, feminine bras that can be worn with a breast form, including a range of specially designed pocketed bras. >view our bra product range.

"When you start wearing your new external breast form, you will experience a more balanced self - both physically from the weight of the form, and emotionally by a return in self confidence".

Our bodies change in weight and shape so it is recommended that you have your fitting checked every 12 months. Please contact us on 02 9527 7301.

Your bra should give you a balanced, natural look so that no-one is able to detect which side the breast form is on.

Different Types of Breast Forms

A trained fitter from MPS will advise you which breast form shape suits you best, as there is a wide range of sizes, weights and and shapes to choose from.

Triangle Shape:
A triangular form fills the bra in a complete and natural way. This fine upper extension gives a smooth transition on to the chest wall and the underarm extension is minimised to suit latest surgical techniques in retaining underarm tissue.

Asymmetric & Teardrop Shapes: These shapes have an upper chest extension, inner chest extension, and/or a tail extension to go under the arm. It is ideal for women who have undergone modified/radical surgery.

Attachable Breast Forms: Attachable forms adhere to the chest wall with skin friendly adhesives. Because the breast form's weight is supported by the chest wall, these breast forms help eliminate strain on the shoulders and back. The form moves with the body, allowing you full freedom of movement and complete confidence to pursue all types of rigorous sporting activities including swimming.

Partial Breast Shape (Shaper): If you've had breast surgery, in many cases only a section of the breast has been removed, and you will only require a partial breast shape to balance out your appearance. There are many shapes available worn in just the right place to achieve a perfectly balanced and proportioned result.
